Über mich

Meine Stadt. Mein Projekt.

Ich lebe in Frankfurt. Und wie viele hier bin ich es gewohnt, die Skyline einfach im Hintergrund zu haben, auf dem Weg zur Arbeit, beim Spaziergang am Main, irgendwo zwischen Alltag und Feierabend.

Irgendwann habe ich angefangen, nach einem Poster zu suchen. Etwas Schlichtes, das Frankfurt wirklich zeigt. Nicht zu touristisch, nicht zu generisch. Ich habe einiges gefunden, aber nichts, das mich wirklich überzeugt hat.

Also habe ich es selbst versucht.

So ist Meine Stadt | My City entstanden. Ein kleines Projekt, das mit Frankfurt begonnen hat und inzwischen fünf deutsche Städte umfasst. Berlin, Hamburg, München, Köln und natürlich Frankfurt.

Die Idee ist einfach: Skylines, die man sofort erkennt. Mit den Gebäuden, die wirklich zur Stadt gehören. Und dem Jahr, in dem die Stadt gegründet wurde, weil jede Stadt eine Geschichte hat, die es wert ist, erinnert zu werden.

I live in Frankfurt. And like a lot of people here, I got used to having the skyline just there in the background, on the way to work, walking along the Main, somewhere between morning and evening.

At some point I started looking for a poster. Something simple that actually showed Frankfurt. Not too touristy, not too generic. I found a few things, but nothing that really did it for me.

So I tried to make it myself.

That's how Meine Stadt | My City came about. A small project that started with Frankfurt and now covers five German cities. Berlin, Hamburg, München, Köln and Frankfurt, of course.

The idea is straightforward: skylines you recognise straight away. With the landmarks that actually belong to each city. And the year it was founded, because every city has a history worth remembering.
